Honoring Our Vets in Construction

Get ready for a day of competition, camaraderie, and appreciation at the AGC Houston Veterans in Construction 9th Annual Pistol & Rifle Shootout!

Hosted by the AGC Houston Veterans in Construction Committee, this annual event brings together members of the construction community for a unique day of friendly competition while honoring the veterans who have served our country and continue to make an impact in our industry.

You do not have to be a veteran to participate! This event is open to EVERYONE who wants to compete, connect with industry peers, and join us in supporting our veteran community.

We’re excited to return to Copendero's and bring back the popular Archery Competition, along with a new Steel Target Match added to this year’s pistol competition.

Event Agenda

• 8:30 a.m. — Event check-in begins
  No check-in will be available before 8:30 a.m.
• 9:00 a.m. — Safety course begins promptly
• 10:00 a.m. — Competition begins
• 1:00 p.m. — Raffle begins
• 2:00 p.m. — Competition concludes

The Competition

Pistol Competition

The traditional pistol competition returns with a series of challenges designed to test shooters throughout the course. Each lane will feature a different challenge, such as shooting at a moving target or firing from 10 yards behind a barricade.

NEW this year: Steel Target Match!

This fast-paced, 16-round stage will feature approximately 5–7 steel targets positioned downrange. Shooters will engage each target as quickly as possible to earn their individual time. Individual scores will then be combined to determine the team's overall time.

Rifle Competition

The rifle competition will follow the traditional format used in previous years. Shooters will compete using iron sights only, with carbine-style rifles provided at each lane.

Archery Competition

Back by popular demand! Each shooter will receive three arrows and attempt to hit targets positioned at varying distances between 10 and 20 yards.

Ammunition Count

Pistol – Steel Target Match

• 16 rounds per shooter

Pistol – Traditional Competition

• 25 rounds per shooter
• 5 shots per lane
• 5 lanes total

Total 9mm Ammunition: 41 rounds per shooter

Rifle Competition

• 25 rounds per shooter
• 5 shots per lane
• 5 lanes total

Guns and ammunition for the pistol and rifle competitions will be provided by Copendero Indoor Archery, Pistol & Rifle Range.

You don't have to compete to be part of the fun! Relax in our VIP Lounge, enjoy food and beverages, network with fellow construction industry professionals, cheer on the competitors, and enter for a chance to win exciting raffle prizes.

Even better, a portion of the proceeds from raffle ticket sales will benefit a veteran organization, giving attendees another opportunity to support those who have served.
