AGC Houston has teamed up with AGC of Colorado to offer an online Project Engineer Bootcamp. This Bootcamp picks up where higher education left off and is intended for interns or project engineers that are early in their construction careers, including graduates with up to 5 years of experience. The Bootcamp also benefits craft leaders or administrative staff looking to transition into a Project Engineering role. Each unit is standalone and can be taken individually, or you can choose to complete all three. Sign up today to take the next step in your career!                

Project Engineers (PEs) play a pivotal role in the success of construction projects, with many being recent graduates or interns. This Bootcamp bridges the gap left by higher education and targets interns or Project Engineers in the early stages of their construction careers, including those with up to five years of experience. It is also advantageous for craft leaders or administrative personnel aspiring to become Project Engineers. The Bootcamp is conducted by seasoned constructors and instructors eager to impart their work experiences and nurture the next generation of construction leaders.

Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:00 - 3:30PM CST, March 5 through March 19

• Session 1: Role of a Project Engineer and the Importance of Document Control
• Session 2: Visualizing and Interpreting Construction Documents
• Session 3: Understanding Scope
• Session 4: Document Control, RFIs, and Meeting Minutes
• Session 5: Submittal Management + Closeout

Project Engineer Bootcamp Unit 2

Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:00 - 3:30PM CST, April 2 through April 16

• Session 1: Importance of Owner Contract
• Session 2: Scheduling Fundamentals
• Session 3: Safety for Project Engineers
• Session 4: Effective Communication
• Session 5: Material and Equipment Procurement

Project Engineer Bootcamp Unit 3

Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:00 - 3:30PM CST, May 5 through May 19

• Session 1: Change Management
• Session 2: How to Communicate With Trade Partners
• Session 3: Schedule of Values and Pay Applications
• Session 4: Quality Management
• Session 5: Owner/Architect/Engineer Communication Techniques and Managing Expectations

The Instructor:

Dan Rondinelli holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University and has been constructing commercial projects for 34 years. Additionally, since 1999, he has taught plan reading, quantity take-off, and estimating at CSU on a part-time basis.

Dan possesses a "Class A: contractor's license in the City and County of Denver and is a Certified Cost Professional. Outside of building and teaching, Dan spends his time in his woodshop, engaging in hands-on craftsmanship.
