Description
In the first hour of this two-hour virtual program, you will get a refresher on the basics of employment law and HR, such as how to handle employee issues, leave requests, and disciplinary actions. You will also learn about the best practices and policies to protect your company from legal risks and liabilities.
The second half of this class you will learn about the new laws that cover pregnant and nursing workers, which were signed by President Biden in December 2022. These laws are the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) and the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections for Nursing Mothers Act (PUMP Act). You will learn about the requirements and obligations of employers to provide reasonable accommodations and break time for workers who are pregnant or breastfeeding. You will also learn about the rights and remedies of workers who are affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions.
This program is designed for anyone who works in the construction industry, such as supervisors, managers, HR or safety professionals. You will gain valuable knowledge and skills that will help you comply with the law and create a supportive and productive work environment for your employees.
