Description
This is a two-hour virtual program, where you will learn about the best practices and policies to protect your company from legal risks and liabilities.
Hour 1: Don’t Fear HR or Second Chance Workers – This session covers two distinct but important topics for employers: (1) Informing supervisors and managers precisely what types of issues should be elevated to HR (and possibly legal) involvement as well as best practices for providing HR the information they really need to handle the situation. (2) Shattering misconceptions about the risk of negligent hiring litigation based on hiring individuals with criminal histories, the legal dangers of blanket bans on hiring second chance workers, and best practices for identifying good second chance hires.
Hour 2: November Reign: Recent Employment Law Matters That Could be Affected by the Presidential Election – This session takes a closer look at five recent employment law rules that face a uncertain future depending on who wins the White House and also on how current legal challenges play out: (1) Federal Trade Commission Non-Compete Ban, (2) NLRB Joint Employer Rule, (3) DOL Independent Contractor Rule, (4) DOL Overtime Threshold Rule, and (5) Federal Acquisition Council Project Labor Agreement (PLA) Rule.
This program is designed for anyone who works in the construction industry, such as supervisors, managers, HR or safety professionals. You will gain valuable knowledge and skills that will help you comply with the law and create a supportive and productive work environment for your employees.
