DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES

Entries must be received by noon on May 3, 2024. Entries will not be accepted after this time.

ELIGIBILITY

Members (General Contractors and Specialty Contractors) of the Houston Chapter, Associated General Contractors may submit any project(s) completed between April 1, 2022, and March 31, 2024.

Projects submitted must be located in the AGC Houston Chapter territory. Counties include Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Freestone, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Houston, Leon, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, Polk, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington, Wharton and the west half of Liberty.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA:

Projects will be evaluated and scored according to the following criteria:

1. Contribution to the community and/or environment - 10%
2. Safety record - 15%
3. Quality of the management process in serving the client - 10%
4. Project completed on time - 10%
5. Project completed with budget - 10%
6. Difficulty in construction such as significate challenges associated with the project - 15%
7. Uniqueness of the project (based on written description in the entry) - 15%
8.  Does the project video meet the submission criteria - 15%

VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

1. Explain why your project deserves to win the APEX award.
2. Keep the video a maximum of three minutes long and not exceed 1G.  Do not submit in 4K.
3. Use only a cell phone to record the video - hold it sideways for better quality.
4. Professionally produced marketing videos should not be submitted.
5. Video should ONLY include information on the project.
6. You can use the following elements in your video to explain a challenge and or success on your project:

1. People - Owners, Project Team Members

2. Places - Virtual Tour

JUDGING CRITERIA:
Judges are owners, architects, engineers, and industry partners from the Houston community and beyond. The online judging process will only occur May 17-24, 2024.

AWARDS

There will be up to three APEX award winners in each category:  Gold, Silver, or Bronze. Please note that not all project categories will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards.

A project can be entered in up to two categories and there is no limit (per company) to the number of entries in one category.

Winning projects will be honored and featured during the APEX Awards Gala on September 27, 2024

All submitted projects will be highlighted in the program and on digital displays at the Gala.

CATEGORIES

The APEX Committee may re-categorize any entry for cause with proper notification. The committee may also redefine categories to accommodate high entry counts.

ENTRY FEE

EACH ENTRY MUST INCLUDE:

1. Completed Online APEX Entry Form: Click "Submit Now" below to begin the process. Be sure to save your work. To start a new entry form, simply click the "Home" button to access this page.

2. Uploads: During your online submission process, you will be prompted to upload the required project photos, video, and company logo.

3. Payment: Payment is required for each project submission. Simply click "Add to Cart" once you have provided all of the required information and follow the steps to checkout.

4. Cost: $400 per entry

APEX AWARDS SUBMISSION DEADLINES
Entries must be received by noon on May 3, 2024. Entries will not be accepted after this time. Payment for the complete number of entries submitted must be received by 5:00 p.m. on May 3, 2024
