Today Is the Last Day to VOTE EARLY for Proposition 1!
Proposition 1 (Prop 1) on your Nov. 4th ballot provides Texas State Technical College (TSTC) with funds to expand job-training programs and help meet the needs of today’s workforce.
If passed, Prop 1 would provide $850 million from the state’s general revenue to support critical capital needs for TSTC, including facility expansion, land acquisition, and modern equipment purchases needed for classroom programs and instructions.
The Texas State Technical College System (TSTC) is recognized as a leading producer of skilled workers. With Texas facing a serious skilled labor shortage, the investments in Prop 1 would give TSTC more capacity to train more students to enter the workforce and get good-paying jobs, especially in high-growth, high-need regions.
Vote FOR Prop. 1
When you vote FOR Prop 1, you are saying YES to give TSTC the resources it needs to expand and train more Texans for high-demand, good-paying jobs and that benefits the entire Texas economy. Prop 1 will ensure that TSTC has the long-term capital resources it needs to expand its impact and continue fueling the Texas economy.
Inflation adds to the cost of construction, so passing Prop 1 now will allow TSTC and taxpayers to save money in the long run by getting new facilities and renovations made sooner rather than later.
The Texas State Technical College (TSTC) endowment:
- First-ever endowment to build TSTC campuses across Texas to train workers for construction industry shortages
- No new taxes imposed – money comes from surplus
- Broad, bipartisan support

Applications Are Now Open for the 2026
Class of Leadership AGC!
This leadership program was created by construction leaders for construction leaders. As Houston’s commercial construction industry continues to grow, there is an increasing need for trained, informed, and responsible leaders to guide its future. Developing the next generation of leaders is essential to the long-term success and growth of Houston’s construction industry.
Unlike the typical leadership development program, Leadership AGC will focus on the experience. A limited group of 20 participants will develop a civic and professional network and emerge with an increased knowledge of our industry’s diversities. In addition to enhancing their professional and civic networks, program participants will also learn what they can do to actively participate and to ultimately become an influencer in the affairs of the industry and the community.
Beginning in January and ending in December, each session focuses on an integral aspect of the commercial construction industry specific to Houston and the surrounding region.
Past programs have included sessions pertaining to the following:
- Introduction to Leadership and AGC Houston
- Professional Development: Skills and Knowledge Development
- Community Service and Charitable Giving
- Texas Medical Center/Thermal Energy Corporation or TECO
- AGC Texas Building Branch and Legislative Issues Program
- Leadership and Teambuilding Development
- Roundtable Discussions
- Leadership Panel Discussions
Applications are due by November 21, 2025.
